Most cat parents are making this one common mistake when it comes to food. Dr. Ruth Roberts shares exactly what to feed (and what to stop feeding) your cat—at every stage of life.
Thanks so much, Sandra! 💛 I’m really glad it was helpful. Dr. Ruth shared so many practical tips—was there one in particular that stood out to you? Or anything you're thinking about trying with your cat's food?
The transitioning from kibble to canned food...with all my kitties I leave fresh, dry cat food out for thom to munch on as they please,I feed canned food 2-3 times daily.I've been reading a lot lately about getting your cat away from the kibble. Also the added moisture thing: I do that, plus they all drink lots of fresh water. The suggestions for food toppers was interesting, just the other day a friend said she adds the sardines a few times a week,so I am going to try that...I think they will enjoy sardines.Thank you for replying and for the very helpful pieces from you and others...I learn so many more ways to help my kitties!💕
Sandra, I love everything you shared here—thank you! 💛 It sounds like you’re doing such a thoughtful job balancing things and staying curious about new ways to support your kitties.
I’m so glad the episode gave you a few new ideas to explore (sardines = a win in my house too 🐟). And it’s awesome to hear you're already adding moisture and paying attention to those little upgrades. That really makes such a difference over time.
Keep me posted on how the sardine experiment goes—I’d love to hear what they think! 😺
I am living in a less than premium situation but will be moving soon. My lovely pet partner has been struggling with constipation so I took it as a message to quit kibble and transition to the wet food that he was previously getting just for dinner. I hope to transition to an even healthier canned after we move. Fortunately, he is only 3 and seems to transition easily if he likes the taste. I keep trying to remind myself you can only do what you know. My one struggle is that he's a grazer so I have to leave food out longer than I would like. Gratefully, he won't eat food that is off.
Thanks so much for listening! 🐾
I'd love to know:
What are you currently feeding your cat, and what's one small upgrade you're thinking about making after hearing this episode?
No judgment—just honest cat parent conversation.
