Well, our Norwegian Forest Cat was so smart, she knew it was important when husband and I prayed every morning (she’d wait nearby and watch). But then when I was desperate to help her GI upsets, I made a point to read aloud my Catholic daily prayer right after her breakfast, then petted her profusely as she calmed down on floor with telling her how much she was loved by God. After all, He brought us together.

This is really beautiful. I love that your cat knew how important that quiet prayer time was—and that you created such a loving ritual to help her feel calm and safe during a tough time. It’s amazing how intuitive our cats can be when we slow down and really include them in our lives.

And I agree... sometimes it really does feel like we’re brought together for a reason. Thanks for sharing this—it’s a special reminder of just how deep that bond can go. 💛

My Siamese demands breakfast a little earlier every day. He is loud, like most Siamese, and if his meows don’t work right away, he walks across my lap repeatedly, his tail hitting me in the face. He’s a big boy too so this makes a literal impression. Then he goes and sits beside the cat food cans and meows. I know that he thinks I am lazy and/or stupid.

This made me laugh—sounds like you’ve got a very determined alarm clock! 😅 I can picture the tail-in-the-face move perfectly. Siamese definitely know how to get their point across, and it sounds like he’s got you well-trained. I love how specific their routines can be—and how personally they take it when we’re not moving fast enough. Thanks for sharing this. Totally made my day.
