I found out my cat was a therapy cat as well, after I put a GPS tracker on her to know where she was going. Charley was visiting a woman on the block with a broken neck, a cat with Giardia, another woman home from work with a migraine, and I’m sure the list goes on…🙏🙏
Wow, Charley sounds amazing 💛 I love that you were able to discover her “therapy route” with the GPS tracker — what a gift she’s been to so many in your community.
I’d actually love to hear more about her story. If you’re open to it, maybe we could even feature you and Charley on the They Saved Me First podcast sometime. I think my readers and listeners would be so inspired by her work.
I'm saving this article. I always cringe when you see lovely videos of kitties online and someone is always there to couch quarterback on their soapbox and condemn someone for letting their cat outdoors. I get it why they feel that way, but it's frankly none of their business to tell someone how to care for their kitty. The owner should know their cat and their neighborhood, and their gut feelings about what's best. This story is a great example of that. If the owner had never let her cat outside, Tasha would never have been such a comfort and blessing to that man.
I really appreciate you sharing this 💛 You’re right — every cat, home, and neighborhood is different, and ultimately it’s up to the person who knows that cat best to decide what’s right. In this case, if Tasha hadn’t been allowed outside, this beautiful connection never would have happened. I’m so glad Michelle shared it with us so we could all be reminded of the quiet ways our animals can make a difference.
This is a beautiful story💓
